The Raboua Al-Badia Society
The Raboua Al-Badia Society for Reviving Folk Heritage, established in 2012 by locals in Husseineyeh, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to preserving the rich cultural legacy of the Jordanian Badia in Husainiyah and the southern Badia areas. The association is committed to preserving traditional folk arts through impactful projects centered around time-honored crafts and handmade endeavors. This initiative serves not only to protect the cultural heritage of the Jordanian Badia but also to generate income for women within the local community. In these projects, proud women actively participate in various areas such as spinning, weaving, traditional crafts within the association, and culinary arts in Bait Al-Alia camp. This allows both locals and tourists to experience authentic Bedouin life, savor traditional cuisine, and witness traditional crafting techniques. The association provides a reliable source of income for families actively engaged in preserving these age-old practices. The aspiration is to strategically position these regions on the tourism map, ensuring that the projects foster not only local benefit but also contribute significantly to regional tourism development. The ambition is to market the cultural and heritage tourism of southern Badia, offering visitors immersive experiences into the traditions of authentic Jordanian tribes. The Raboua Al-Badia Association envisions creating projects that are not only culturally enriching but also beneficial for the local community. The association's mission extends beyond preservation; it strives to amplify and empower the folk heritage of the Jordanian Badia, acting as a symbol of national identity. All ages, youth, and adults come together in this place with the same goal and vision.
