Rawan Al-Rabadi, an accomplished icon painter, is the visionary founder of Ark for Arts, driven by her profound passion for sacred iconography. Her journey into this ancient craft began with a quest to delve deeply into Jordanian culture, seeking to revive and preserve its rich artistic heritage. Despite the near extinction of this traditional art form, Rawan's dedication pushed her forward, fueled by a curiosity about the origins and techniques of sacred icons. Her quest for knowledge took her to various countries, including Greece, Romania, Turkey, and Russia, where she collaborated with esteemed icon painters and specialised restorers. In late 2019, Rawan began on the journey of preparing and equipping her studio and gallery, intending to consolidate her vast experiences and discoveries into a sanctuary dedicated to sacred icons.
