Hanan Al Ateesh

Hanan Al Ateesh, a mother of four children, is a teacher and trainer of handicrafts. She began her project as a way to help local women improve their reading, writing, and handwork skills in order to generate income. Over time, her project evolved into a free training program for women in handicrafts, with the goal of helping them to generate income. In 2000, she started as a handicrafts teacher, and later decided to convert her business into a guesthouse that offers unique tourism experiences. Instead of just teaching handwork to local women, her business now welcomes visitors and tourists for a comprehensive experience that includes traditional food, visits, and the opportunity to take home a handmade craft before leaving. Despite the struggles of converting her workshop into a guesthouse, lack of experience in social media and advertising, and insufficient marketing, she aspires to reach the largest number of visitors and tourists to her project.
